It is a tad late, but here is the diary entry from my first day of filming.
Diary entry: 11th November 2014.
Georgia is one of the two participants in my documentary and I have made notes on her behaviour and things I have learnt whilst filming.
In the lesson during filming she had to listen to a presented by her class. I have noted she may not have done much in lessons because she knew she was being filmed, we may present a problem but it is something I have to stick with it.
However they will be other times to capture more things as production goes on. So at this moment in time, I have learnt that one has to be patient and just stick with what is going on, in the hope that something will happen that will interest the audience.
Despite the background voices, I cannot change the angle because I only have permission from her to film and not the rest of the class.
This has presented a problem as interested stuff had been said She makes a few points in the lessons and this is good because when it comes to editing, I can then use only this part. She talks a bit more as the lesson moves on and this is good because the class went silent to hear her talk. It meant that the attention was on her which enabled me to get some good footage.
However there is very little activity after the last paragraph and this reinforces the idea that I needed to just stick with what is going on.m my first day of filming.
