Aside from TV, documentaries can also be distributed and exhibited on the internet.
A very well-known example and probably not the first service, one may associate with documentaries, is YouTube. Tv channels like National Geographic and History have their own dedicated YouTube channels.
An example of this was a History channel documentary I found on YouTube called, World War two from space.
It was originally broadcasted on American TV and is available on DVD. However being on YouTube, it means that it is widely available to the rest of the world.
Another internet distributer is http://documentary.net and they show a variety of different documentaries and one documentary that stood out to me was by a filmmaker called Scott Calonico. His documentary is titled “The Silly Ba****d next to the bed”. According to the website, this was the description:
“In 1963, JFK recorded one of the most foul-mouthed telephone calls ever made from the White House. This is the story of the silly bastard who started it all. JFK places a salty call to his staff, questioning a potentially embarrassing expenditure. The blowback is hilarious… and a little haunting.”
Watching some of the documentary, one learns that is it about an airman photographed next to a airforce hospital bed that apparently had been bought especially for use of Mrs.Kennedy to have her third child.
A nice post Oliver. Ms Sandys
